Gerês
Gerês is a region located in the north of Portugal, known for its stunning natural beauty and the National Parks that surround it. The most prominent area is the Peneda-Gerês National Park, the only national park in Portugal, which stretches across the Serra do Gerês, Serra da Peneda, and other adjacent mountains.
The landscape of Gerês is marked by mountains, deep valleys, crystal-clear rivers, lakes and impressive waterfalls. The vegetation is diverse, with oak, chestnut and pine forests and an abundance of wild flora. The region is rich in biodiversity, home to many species of fauna and flora.
